Dress in excess
A little maximalism won’t kill you.
As much as I value minimalism when it comes to style – and I say “value”, because although it often proves a wise choice, it’s rather not in my DNA it seems, to dress minimally – there are days when simply having clothes on is not enough. N’est-ce pas?
Sometimes you – and I – want your outfit to not just whisper, but roar. Sort of like a Game of Fashion Thrones, where there are too many antagonists thirsty to prevail, too many claims of colour, too many clashes and only one single little outfit.
Source of inspiration? Well, inevitably my own end-of-July mood, the 80s, Madonna, the jungle, and last but not least, the iconic Iris Apfel whose style is not only the epitome of perfect maximalism but also a breath of fresh style air in an often dull fashion world.
“My mother worshipped at the altar of the accessory and I caught the bug.” – Iris Apfel
